The contest will be held on Saturday, August 25th.
There are separate categories for purple vegetables and purple flowers, with cash prizes in each category.
Entries will be accepted from 9 am to noon, at the Contest Booth at the Farmers Market. Judging will be at noon. Entries will be judged on ‘purpleness
and appearance’. One to three vegetables or flowers per entry, in or on disposable containers, will be accepted. Vegetables may be cut to display purple interiors. The contest is open to all ages.
The Purple Plant contest is sponsored by Northrim Bank. Representatives from the bank will be at the Market on Wednesday, August 22nd, to answer questions about the contest.
